What we do
Every garden is different. Every plant is different. Every visit is built around what's actually in front of us — not a service catalogue.
REGULAR VISITS, NEVER ROUTINE WORK
Ongoing Garden Care
We provide ongoing, plant-led care for established gardens through regular, carefully timed visits. Each garden is approached individually, with attention to its structure, planting, and seasonal rhythm—working with it and adjusting over time rather than imposing a strict routine.
Seasonal Border Work
Detailed care of herbaceous and mixed borders, including weeding, deadheading, staking, cutting back, and division where needed—carried out with an intimate understanding of plants, their function, habits and quirks and how planting evolves through the year.
Pruning & Plant Management
Informed pruning of shrubs, climbers, fruit trees, hedges and small trees—including trained and restricted forms such as cordons and espaliers—alongside careful training and shaping to maintain balance, encourage healthy growth, and support flowering, fruiting, and form.
Lawns & Green Surfaces
Considered lawn care as part of the wider garden: mowing, edging, and seasonal treatments carried out to maintain a healthy, well-balanced sward that sits comfortably within its surroundings.
Soil & Plant Health
Ongoing attention to soil condition and plant vitality, including mulching, feeding, and early intervention where issues arise—supporting vibrant, resilient, long-lived planting.
Planting Refinement
The gradual editing and adjustment of planting schemes: lifting, relocating, or introducing plants where appropriate—including the establishment and management of wildflower meadows—to improve cohesion, structure, and seasonal interest.
Consultation & Garden Advice
Practical, site-specific advice for garden owners—whether reviewing an existing space, troubleshooting particular issues, or guiding planting and maintenance decisions over time.
Talks & Horticultural Lectures
Informal, experience-led talks for gardening clubs and societies, based on years of hands-on work in real gardens. Practical, honest, and occasionally light-hearted—focused on sharing what actually works (and what doesn’t).
A Considered Approach
Each visit is guided by what the garden needs at that moment, with the aim of leaving it quietly, but noticeably, improved—supporting long-term structure, balance, and year-round interest.
